This is a
Reg. Ladner Black Mouth Cur. He is owned by Southern Heritage Kennels and is one
of our breeding Sire's. This is the breed that fanciers, owners and breeders
truly believe is the best all around dog known to man. So what makes this dog so
special: THE LADNER BLACK MOUTH CUR, Black Mouth Curs are known for their
extraordinary temperament. They are very protective of their family and property
. They have many talents. They hunt well alone or with other dogs when properly
socialized. This is an active breed, not lazy, they desire and need exercise.
They are quick learners and have a great desire to please their master.
Predictable, this is a breed with strong protective instincts. He is
affectionate and quite loyal to the children in his human family and often lets
it be known that he is displeased if they are disciplined. He is more inclined
to be familiar and loveable to women in the household, being a little aloof with the men
and wary of strange men. With all of his strength and stamina shown on a hunt,
he is still a very gentle loving, caring dog. His disposition is best known
among dog folks as a "soft temper". Words spoken harshly to this dog are not
nearly as effective as gentle tones, for he will do anything to please his
master. He has a stable temperament and he is very loyal, obedient and
protective.
Sound Temperament; Because Black Mouth Cur's form such a strong bond to their owners, they
usually make buddy dogs, riding around in the truck wherever their owner goes,
if allowed. Black Mouth Cur's have a natural trait to be aggressive at the correct time but
they can still be totally under their owner’s control even in the middle of a
bay up with wild animals or other exciting moments for the dog.
